Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Norbury Wharf Limited
UPDATE 11/04/2021 - From tomorrow we are looking forward to welcoming customers back aboard our day boats and hire boats. Our tearoom will be open each day from 8.30am to 5pm (last hot food at 4pm) and the following conditions must be met by all our customers:
1. Scan the NHS Test and Trace app upon arrival. The QR codes are displayed at both entrances to the site, on the entrance door to the shop and on each outside table.
2. If you do not have the NHS Test and Trace app each person must give their contact details to a member of staff at the time when an order is taken. This will be stored securely with our visitor records for 28 days.
THE ABOVE POINTS ARE MANDORATORY AND FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN YOU NOT BEING SERVED AND ASKED TO LEAVE OUR PREMISES.
3. Hand sanitiser is available around the site and we encourage all customer to use the stations regularly.
4. We are operating table service only. Customers are not permitted inside the Tearoom, but the shop and chandlery will remain open. Please find a table, remain seated and wait for a member of staff to come to your table to take your order.
5. If you enter our gift shop and chandlery a face mask must always be worn.
6. Please do not move our furniture. It has been placed to adhere to a safe distance to protect our customers and staff.
7. Please avoid mixing with occupants on other tables and adhere to the current government guidelines – 6 people / 2 households.
7. Card payments are preferred, but we will accept cash if necessary.
8. Dogs must be kept on a lead and under strict control.
9. Children must be supervised, and the parent or guardian is to ensure that they adhere to the government advice on social distancing.
10. Please dispose of your rubbish in the bins provided.
We always ask for your patience and consideration to all other persons on our site. Failure to adhere to any of the above conditions will result in you being asked to leave our premises.

UPDATE 21/03/2021 - We have received a further update from the British Marine Federation and the hire of dayboats will not commence until 12/04/2021.
UPDATE 03/03/2021 - Following the latest announcement from the UK Government and from the Canal and River Trust we are pleased to confirm that the hire of our boats is due to commence as follows:
From 29/03/2021 - One household only.
From 17/05/2021 - Six people/two households.
From 21/06/2021 - Restrictions lifted.

The boat yard is OPEN offering full boat yard facilities including sales of red diesel, Calor Gas, smokeless fuels, kindling, logs, Chandlery items, maintenance, service, dry docking and painting.
Our booking team will continue to man the telephones and the telephone lines are open 9am to 5pm every day (including weekends).
Can we politely remind all customers to adhere to the latest guidelines in regard to social distancing when on our premises.

UPDATE 01/11/2020 - Following the latest announcement by the Government we will continue to be open for all products and services until close of business (5pm) on Wednesday 4th November.
From Thursday 5th November for a period of four weeks our tea room, trip boat, day boat and hire boat operations will not be operating. We will be contacting any customer's with reservations for bookings during these dates within the next few days and will be offering postponement or cancellation - Please bear with us as our booking office is busy answering questions.
The boat yard will remain OPEN during the lock down period to provide an essential service to boaters and the local community. This will include sales of red diesel, Calor Gas, smokeless fuels, kindling, logs, Chandlery items, pre-booked maintenance and service.
Our booking team will continue to man the telephones and although holidays can not take place during the lock down period they we will be accepting bookings for day boat hire and hire boat hire to commence once the restrictions have been lifted.
Can we politely remind any customers that will be visiting us for essential services to wear a face mask at all times when inside our building to protect our staff and all of our customers.

UPDATE 12/09/2020 - Due to the latest government guidelines which come in to force on 14/09/2020 all new day boat bookings will be restricted to a maximum of six people rather than the ten people as advertised in all of our literature. Weekly hire boats will also be restricted to six people. The only exception will be if there are more than six people within the same household or within a support bubble. We politely request that customer's with existing bookings that had planned to travel with more than six people to contact our Booking Office by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) to discuss their options.
The health and safety of all of our visitors and guests is our main priority.
We understand that the situation is unsettling and we would like to reassure everyone that we are closely monitoring the developing situation and following the latest government advice at all times.

We have implemented some key changes to the way that we operate to help keep everyone safe:
New social distancing measures - We have implemented social distancing measures in line with the latest government guidelines and we request all visitors to our site to adhere to these at all times. There are signs in place throughout our site to remind you of these. Hand sanitiser is provided upon entry to our tearoom, chandlery and office. All customers entering our buildings must wear a face covering - signs are displayed on all entry points. Please remember not to visit us if you have any symptons relating to Coronavirus (COVID-19). https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/ All customers joining us for day hire or short breaks and weekly hire will be sent information detailing the joining instructions.
Additional cleaning - We are using antiviral products to clean our boats throughly between each hire. We pay extra attention to handles, taps, crockery, keys, guard rails, toilets and other metal surfaces. Our cleaning staff wear masks, gloves and aprons which are changed between each boat that they enter. Bed linen and towels are laundered at higher temperatures. A portable fogger sprays a disinfectant mist throughout each boat prior to collection by the hirer.
New show round procedure - A new show round video will be sent out prior to your arrival to help you prepare with the facilities aboard each boat and how the boats are operated. A physical show round of the boat will still take place with a member of our team and one member of your party only. It will include how to steer and operate the boat. Our show round staff will wear a mask and gloves and we request the hirer to provide their own mask and gloves for this purpose.
