Founded in 2005 at the already established location of Norbury Junction, Staffordshire, Norbury Wharf Limited has developed a successful marina and boatyard offering hundreds of people a year an experience not to be forgotten on our fantastic canal network.
Located on the beautiful Shropshire Union Canal at the Junction of the now disused canal to Newport, Shropshire and beyond, this is an ideal cruising base for the famous Four Counties Ring, with convenient access to the Black Country ring, Llangollen canal and its famous Pontcysyllte aqueduct and the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal with its terminus at Stourport.

42-seater Passenger Trip Boat

The “Shropshire Star” our 42-seater passenger trip boat is available for Public cruises and Chartered cruises.

Norbury Wharf Limited offers full boatyard services seven days a week by a team; second to none, of narrow boat enthusiasts including qualified tradesmen. A fleet of nine hire boats, four day boats and a 42-seater passenger trip boat are operated all year round.
As well as this there is a fantastic array of facilities including a covered heated painting dock for professional coach painting, a large covered dry dock for hull blacking and repairs, workshop facilities for all engineering, electrical, carpentry work and engine services.

An onsite Chandlery caters for everything to do with narrow boats and is available either online or in an E-bay shop.

The moorings are surrounded by acres of rural farmland, a network of footpaths including the “Millennium Trail” and are within easy reach of Stafford, Telford and the M6 motorway.

This is more than just a boatyard. The licensed tearoom has a superb menu and is just one of the added benefits of this wonderful location.

Why are our hire boats so popular?

All of our boats are privately owned which makes them individual.
Our boats do not look like hire boats, they are mostly individual in colour and appearance.
None of the boats have any reference to our company painted on the side. This gives you the feeling of being the boat owner rather than the hirer.
The interiors are cosy. Some boats have solid fuel stoves as well as gas fired central heating.
All boats have porcelain, fresh water flush toilets, digital TV’s with Freeview and DVD players.
All of boats are fitted with modern, quiet running diesel engines with easy to operate controls.
